Expected results
A more attractively shaped nose that's in better proportion to other facial features. The final result will occur over the course of a year, which is the time it takes for complete softening of the tissue and for swelling to completely subside.
Will it hurt?
The procedure is done under a general anesthesia. There is no pain during the procedure and some moderate pain afterwards that is easily controlled with pain medication.
How is it done?
Small incisions are made either inside or between the nostrils. Bones, cartilage and soft tissue are reshaped to alter the nose contour and size.
Will it leave a scar?
For a standard nose reshaping, incisions are made inside the nostrils and are therefore not noticeable. For more difficult or larger noses, an incision will be made between the nostrils and will not be noticeable. A procedure to the tip of the nose may use either of these approaches.
Will I have to take time off of work or from my normal daily routine?
The patient leaves the clinic with an external splint, which is usually removed in 7 days. The majority of swelling and bruising goes away within 2 weeks. All normal activities can be resumed after this 2 week period.
Are there any risks?
Numbness - This may occur, usually on the tip of the nose. If it does occur, it usually goes away with time.
Swelling - Because swelling takes time to subside, the final result may not be evident for some time. If a touch up is required, it will take place at least six months after the initial procedure.
Difficulty breathing through the nose - There may be slight difficulties breathing through the nose during the healing process due to swelling

Nose reshaping usually takes two hours, although more complicated procedures may take longer. During surgery the skin of the nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape.
In the days following surgery, when the face is bruised and swollen, the end result will not be apparent. Day by day, the nose will begin to look better as swelling subsides. Some subtle swelling may be present for months, especially in the tip. The final results may not be completely achieved for up to a year.
